 Excursions Depart

This Thursday, two of our end-of-year excursions depart on their adventures.

Mon Repos

The Year 2 group will be heading to Mon Repos for two days of activities including a visit to the turtle information centre on Thursday evening.

Discovery Coast

Early on Thursday morning, the Year 5 and 6 excursion group departs for the Town of 1770 and Agnes Water.

Our excursion will involve the LARC tour to Bustard Head, and a day trip to Lady Musgrave Island. Students will learn about some of the history and geography of the area, as well as local fauna and flora, including birds and marine wildlife.

Best wishes to both excursion groups for a very worthwhile educational and recreational experience. Fingers crossed for kind weather conditions!

*LARC stands for Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo

Japanese Competition

Well done to four of our students who competed in Bundaberg at a special Japanese speaking competition - Abby Dickson, Billie-Jo Piper, Hannah Lowe and Ryder Lythall-Webb. Congratulations to these worthy representatives. Special congratulations to Ryder who placed 4th in the Year 5 group.

Prep Orientation Thanks

It was good to see new (and current) parents and students at school on Friday morning for the Prep 2018 orientation session. Many thanks to our families and staff who were involved. I was disappointed that I was unable to be there due to a regional Principals’ meeting, however I am looking forward to becoming better acquainted with our new students and families in the near future.

RSPCA Charity Drive

There has been a lot to think about but a reminder to everyone regarding our RSPCA Charity Drive which we are currently running through till end of year. Thanks to Sally Houghton for organising this activity. Information is again included over the page.

Colour Run

Many thanks to our P&C members who have been involved in organizing return of prizes to families. Hopefully those students waiting for back orders can hold out till these arrive. Special thanks to coordinator, Julie Hamel, who has done a lot of work sorting orders and prize returns, along with support from others.

High School Awards Continued...

Congratulations this week to our list of high school achievers from Gin Gin State High and Bundaberg State High.

Have a  great week, and thanks for everyone’s continued positive energy and support.
