Principal's Message

A Positive Start

Thanks to all staff and families for a very positive start to the term. I hope that everyone fared okay in the recent wild weather conditions. It was certainly good to have some rain. Parents, at this very busy time,  please make contact regarding any issues that will help to make a fantastic final term for your child.

 

Prep 2019 Orientation

This Friday morning, 19 November, we will hold our Parent Information and Orientation Session for our 2019 Prep students. The session commences at 9.00am in the Prep classroom. Looking forward to meeting our new preppies and  their parents.

 

Grandparents Morning

We are holding a special Grandparents morning on Friday, 2 November. There will be more details soon but at this stage you can mark this date on your calendar. It would be great to see as many grandparents come along, as possible.

 

Swimming Lessons

The upper classes (Year 4/5 and 5/6) will participate in swimming lessons on Tuesdays starting in Week 5 of this term. There will be 5 weeks of swimming ($4 per week ).

A note will be sent home to these classes in the next few weeks regarding swimming and payment arrangements.

 

Soccer Carnival

Year 4, 5 and 6 Students have been issued with a letter today regarding this Friday’s soccer carnival at Gin Gin. Permission note and bus contribution should be returned by Thursday. Thanks.

 

High School Transition Information

Information will soon be passed on to families of Year 6 students regarding the various high school transition days scheduled for this term.

 

Surfing Scientist Visit

Next Thursday, 25 October, we are fortunate to have a visit from the Surfing Scientist, Ruben Meerman. Ruben will be presenting sessions to the students over the morning period. No cost to families. He will also be there to talk briefly at our Assembly. Very exciting!

 

Day for Daniel

Our Day for Daniel will be held next Friday, 26 October. Students will be invited to wear a red t-shirt instead of the usual uniform to support awareness for this important safety message. Just reminding you this week so that you can check out the wardrobe.

 

After School Sport

There will be a 4 week round of After School Sport later in the term commencing in Week 6 on Mondays. More information closer to the time.

 

Student Free Day

There is a statewide Student Free Day next Monday, 22 October. We’ll see students start next week on Tuesday, 23 October.

 

Excursion Payments

Excursion letters are being sent home this week for our Year 3&4 and Year 5&6 excursions. Please contact the school if you need any support around payments.
